The Wolf in Lucha and the Wolf

Readers of Lucha have expressed their confusion about the appearance of the wolf. “It looks like a fox,” they say, “not a wolf. What’s up with that?”

It’s simple.

It’s not a fox.

It’s a maned wolf.

“What’s a maned wolf?” I hear you saying. Well. let me tell you. A maned wolf is the largest canid of South America. Technically it isn’t actually a wolf, it’s a member of the genus Chrysocyon, and it’s the only species in that genus.

It is larger than a fox but smaller than a wolf. Red hair with an angular face like a red fox.
